Gravity control on demand

This site is an invitation to anyone who can demonstrate gravity control on demand to be verified by scientists.

Antigravity research for a machine or device capable of achieving levitation by reacting with and against gravity has been the subject of scientists such as Nikola Tesla, John Keely, Thomas Townsend Brown and many others trying to crack the gravity barrier.

We believe that passionate science of today is on the verge of a new discovery destined to change our way of life forever.

The discovery of a new propulsion system we like to call gravity control. And this great experiment is now taking place within these pages."

Colloidal Silver

Following the normal river of the internet i found this.... ahhh... interesting...

Due to FDA assertions that colloidal silver (CS) is now considered a drug and under their jurisdiction, we have removed Colloidal Silver products from our Products page, but our Deluxe Colloidal Silver Generators are still available, so you can make your own. The present deal with the FDA is this: If you publish articles about all the wonderful things that colloidal silver can do for you, you can't make the colloidal silver itself available because-according to the FDA-you would be making "unsubstantiated medical claims". If you don't post any information about the health benefits of CS, you therefore aren't making ''medical claims", and they won't bother you. I've decided to leave the CS articles in place and encourage you to obtain your own generator. You can always obtain much more information about CS products by sending an E mail to the Editor.

November 20, 2001
The FTC is now trying to intimidate all web sites that make CS available with legal sanctions. We have removed all articles from this web site which indicates any therapeutic benefits from colloidal silver, ozone, or Eewahkee. They do make excellent paperweights however. You might want to consider getting some unusual paperweights. Interested parties should contact the Editor if you desire more information.

Radiation threat from Florida blast low, official says

And I'm sure the water is good to drink too....
Monday, January 30, 2006; Posted: 2:59 p.m. EST (19:59 GMT)

(CNN) -- An explosion Monday at a company in Jacksonville, Florida, that makes airplane, helicopter and military parts injured one person and may have exposed up to 44 others to minor levels of radiation, Jacksonville Fire Rescue spokesman Tom Francis said.

The explosion was caused by a gas canister used to make airplane ignition systems at Unison Industries, spokesman Wayne Moles said.

He said the gas contained a low level of radiation that was dispersed in the area where the ignition systems are made.

According to Francis, the level of possible radiation exposure was low -- approximately equivalent to an X-ray.

But employees who were in the vicinity of the explosion were being decontaminated as a precaution, he added.

Francis said there was no threat to people living in the area.

One person "slightly injured" in the explosion was taken to a hospital, Francis said.

A company Web site said Unison makes alternators and generators for various types of aircraft and ignition control generators for Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Iran Crisis 'Could Drive Oil Over $90

See two posts down and say the oil chant as your reading this ...

By Heather Stewart
Economics Correspondent
The Observer - UK
1-28-6

Oil markets are braced for a nail-biting week, as world leaders demand action against Iran over its nuclear ambitions, and analysts warn that crude prices could reach $90 a barrel if the oil-rich state retaliates by blocking supplies.

The International Atomic Energy Agency meets on Thursday to decide whether to refer Iran to the United Nations Security Council. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's president, has threatened to respond to any punitive action by cutting off the 2.6 million barrels of oil a day it pumps into the markets - 5 per cent of the world's supply.

Jittery investors sent the price of Brent crude to $67.76 a barrel in New York on Friday night, as fears about the Iranian crisis and rebel attacks on oil facilities in Nigeria rocked confidence in an already tight market.

Kona Haque, commodities editor at the Economist Intelligence Unit, said the worst case scenario of a shutdown of supplies from Iran would be 'absolutely devastating ... I wouldn't be surprised to see the price go over $90 a barrel'. She said fears about Iran are already adding a $10 risk premium to oil prices, which could remain in place for months as the crisis escalates. Davoud Danesh-Jafari, Iran's oil minister, has warned that the result of punitive action against his country would be 'the unleashing of a crisis in the oil sector'.

'The resumption of nuclear research by Iran is currently the market's largest preoccupation,' said BNP Paribas oil analyst Eoin O'Callaghan. He has pushed up his forecast for average oil prices this year to $65 a barrel because of geopolitical risk. He points out that the oil price rose more than 60 per cent in the run-up to the Iraq war; a similar increase now would take prices to $94.

Haque said that with little spare capacity in the market, prices are much more vulnerable to political shocks: 'We need a lot more supply capacity to have a cushion; it's going to take another couple of years until that happens.'
The oil producers' organisation Opec meets in Vienna on Tuesday amid calls from some members, including Iran, to cut back production and push up prices further. But most analysts believe production quotas will be left unchanged. 'There's no pressure on Opec to do anything,' said Rob Laughlin, oil analyst at Man Financial.

He said the Nigerian situation could potentially be worse for oil prices than fears about a supply squeeze from Iran. Production levels in Nigeria have already been lowered by 200,000 barrels a day in an effort to protect facilities from the rebels, who have deliberately targeted foreign oil companies. 'Nigeria is probably as big a problem as Iran for us. We're pretty politically squeezed, between the Nigerian rebels and the Iranian president,' said Laughlin.

The president of Opec, Nigeria's Edmund Daukoru, fuelled market fears on Friday when he told Reuters that his organisation was unlikely to step in with extra supplies if the Iranian crisis worsened. 'If Iran decides to stop production, or is forced to stop production because of a sanction, I don't think Opec necessarily has a role to play there,' he said.

Crude peaked at just over $70 a barrel last autumn after hurricane Katrina, but demand from fast-growing economies such as China and India, together with supply shortages in a number of producing countries, has prevented prices from dropping much below $60.

Investment in Russian oil production has been weak since President Putin's tax raid on the oil giant Yukos, and Iraqi output is well below the levels Washington hoped for before coalition tanks rolled into Baghdad. A cold snap in the US, which has so far had an unusually warm winter, could push prices up further in the weeks ahead. 'Should cold weather return to the US, then we'll really be in trouble,' said Laughlin.

From BBC: The European Union has adopted a target of preventing a rise in global average temperature of more than two Celsius. That, according to the report, might be too high, with two degrees being enough to trigger melting of the Greenland ice sheet....

A rise of two Celsius, researchers conclude, will be enough to cause:
* Decreasing crop yields in the developing and developed world

Thinking about "Conspiracy Theories": 9/11 and JFK
by James H. Fetzer, Ph.D.

Saturday, January 28, 2006
By Elaine JarvikDeseret Morning News

Last fall, Brigham Young University physics professor Steven E. Jones made headlines when he charged that the World Trade Center collapsed because of "pre-positioned explosives." Now, along with a group that calls itself "Scholars for 9/11 Truth," he's upping the ante.

"We believe that senior government officials have covered up crucial facts about what really happened on 9/11," the group says in a statement released Friday announcing its formation. "We believe these events may have been orchestrated by the administration in order to manipulate the American people into supporting policies at home and abroad."

Headed by Jones and Jim Fetzer, University of Minnesota Duluth distinguished McKnight professor of philosophy, the group is made up of 50 academicians and others.

They include Robert M. Bowman, former director of the U.S. "Star Wars" space defense program, and Morgan Reynolds, former chief economist for the Department of Labor in President George W. Bush's first term. Most of the members are less well-known.

The group's Web site (http://www.st911.org/) includes an updated version of Jones's paper about the collapse of the Twin Towers and a paper by Fetzer that looks at conspiracy theories. The government's version of the events of 9/11 — that the plane's hijackers were tied to Osama bin Laden — is its own conspiracy theory, says Fetzer, who has studied the John F. Kennedy assassination since 1992.

"Did the Bush administration know in advance about the impending attacks that occurred on 9/11, and allow these to happen, to provoke pre-planned wars against Afghanistan and Iraq? These questions demand immediate answers," charges a paper written collectively by Scholars for 9/11 Truth. The group plans to write more papers, and present lectures and conferences.

"We have very limited resources and no subpoena powers," Fetzer said. "What you have is a bunch of serious scholars taking a look at this and discovering it didn't add up. We don't have a political ax to grind."

Fetzer has doctorates in the history and philosophy of science. "One of the roles I can play here," he said, "is to explain why a certain line of argument is correct or not."

In his original message to potential members last month, Fetzer warned that joining the group might make them the subject of government surveillance and might get them on various lists of "potential terrorists."

The group's charges include:

• Members of the Bush administration knew in advance that the 9/11 attacks would happen but did nothing to stop them.

• No Air Force or Air National Guard jets were sent to "scramble" the hijacked planes, which were clearly deviating from their flight plans, although jet fighters had been deployed for scramblings 67 times in the year prior to 9/11. The procedure for issuing orders for scrambling was changed in June 2001, requiring that approval could only come from the Secretary of Defense, but Donald Rumsfeld was not alerted soon enough on 9/11, according to Scholars group.

• The video of Osama bin Laden found by American troops in Afghanistan in December 2001, in which bin Laden says he orchestrated the attacks, is not bin Laden. The Scholars for 9/11 Truth compared the video with a photo of the "real" bin Laden and argue that there are discrepancies in the ratio of nose-length to nose-width, as well as distance from tip-of-nose to ear lobe.

The Scholars group hopes that media outlets around the world will ask experts in their areas to examine the group's findings and assertions. If this were done, they argue, "one of the great hoaxes of history would stand naked before the eyes of the world."

The group also asks for an investigation of the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings, following up on points made in Jones's paper, "Why Indeed Did the WTC Buildings Collapse?" That paper, recently updated, has been posted on Jones's BYU Web site since last November.

Jones argues that the WTC buildings did not collapse due to impact or fires caused by the jets hitting the towers but collapsed as a result of pre-positioned "cutter charges." Proof, he says, includes:

• Molten metal was found in the subbasements of WTC sites weeks after 9/11; the melting point of structural steel is 2,750 degrees Fahrenheit and the temperature of jet fuel does not exceed 1,800 degrees. Molten metal was also found in the building known as WTC7, although no plane had struck it. Jones's paper also includes a photo of a slag of the metal being extracted from ground zero. The slag, Jones argues, could not be aluminum from the planes because in photographs the metal was salmon-to-yellow-hot temperature (approximately 1,550 to 1,900 degrees F) "well above the melting temperatures of lead and aluminum," which would be a liquid at that temperature.

• Building WTC7 collapsed in 6.6 seconds, which means, Jones says, that the steel and concrete support had to be simply knocked out of the way. "Explosive demolitions are like that," he said. "It doesn't fit the model of the fire-induced pancake collapse."

• No steel-frame, high-rise buildings have ever before or since been brought down due to fires. Temperatures due to fire don't get hot enough for buildings to collapse, he says.

• Jones points to a recent article in the journal New Civil Engineering that says WTC disaster investigators at NIST (the National Institutes of Standards and Technology) "are refusing to show computer visualizations of the collapse of the Twin Towers despite calls from leading structural and fire engineers."

Neither Jones nor other members of the Scholars group suggests who would have planted the explosives, but they argue that the devices could have been operated by remote control. Jones says he has received thousands of e-mails from people around the world who either support his ideas or think he's "nutty," and he still gets about 30 e-mails a day on the topic.

He continues to do research on cold fusion, which he prefers to call metal-catalyzed fusion "to distinguish it from the claims" of former University of Utah chemistry professors B. Stanley Pons and Martin Fleishmann, "which we do not accept as verified." He reports that his metal-catalyzed fusion work is going well, with three scientific papers published last year.

Jones will present a talk entitled "9/11 Revisited: Scientific and Ethical Questions" at Utah Valley State College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Climate Expert Says NASA Tried to Silence Him

By ANDREW C. REVKIN
Published: January 29, 2006

The top climate scientist at NASA says the Bush administration has tried to stop him from speaking out since he gave a lecture last month calling for prompt reductions in emissions of greenhouse gases linked to global warming.

The scientist, James E. Hansen, longtime director of the agency's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, said in an interview that officials at NASA headquarters had ordered the public affairs staff to review his coming lectures, papers, postings on the Goddard Web site and requests for interviews from journalists.

Dr. Hansen said he would ignore the restrictions. "They feel their job is to be this censor of information going out to the public," he said.

Dean Acosta, deputy assistant administrator for public affairs at the space agency, said there was no effort to silence Dr. Hansen. "That's not the way we operate here at NASA," Mr. Acosta said. "We promote openness and we speak with the facts."

He said the restrictions on Dr. Hansen applied to all National Aeronautics and Space Administration personnel. He added that government scientists were free to discuss scientific findings, but that policy statements should be left to policy makers and appointed spokesmen.

Mr. Acosta said other reasons for requiring press officers to review interview requests were to have an orderly flow of information out of a sprawling agency and to avoid surprises. "This is not about any individual or any issue like global warming," he said. "It's about coordination."

Dr. Hansen strongly disagreed with this characterization, saying such procedures had already prevented the public from fully grasping recent findings about climate change that point to risks ahead.

"Communicating with the public seems to be essential," he said, "because public concern is probably the only thing capable of overcoming the special interests that have obfuscated the topic."

What Lies Beneath the Void

Professor Chris Binns (Physics and Astronomy) on his exciting project connected to the 'zero-point energy' of space.

Three thousand years ago the Greek philosophers Leucippus and his student Demokritos proposed the concept of the atom, as a fundamental building block of materials, in order to circumvent a paradox that arises with continuous elements (such as earth fire air and water). They pointed out that if matter was really a continuum then you could cut it into smaller and smaller pieces ad infinitum and, in principle, cut it out of existence into pieces of nothing that could not then be reassembled. Thus, they reasoned, there must be a smallest piece of matter that could not be further divided the a-tomon (uncuttable) from which the word atom is derived. To complete the picture you also need a void in which the atoms move, a concept that produced fervent debate, for example, is the void a ‘nothing’ or a ‘something’ and is it a continuum or does the void itself have an uncuttable smallest unit.

While the atom, the legacy of Leucippus and Demokritos, is now a familiar part of the scientific landscape, the true nature of the void remains a mystery. In classical Physics the void is a ‘nothing’, a simple absence of all matter and energy. Quantum theory tells a different story and states that the void is definitely a ‘something’. It is a seething mass of ‘virtual’ particles that fleetingly appear into and then disappear from our observable universe. This activity, known as quantum fluctuations, corresponds to an intrinsic energy of the void, the ‘zero-point energy’, which, if the void were a continuum, would be infinite. It is generally believed that there is a smallest piece of void, which makes the zero-point energy finite but still colossal beyond the imagination. Each cubic millimetre of empty space contains more than enough zero-point energy to create a new universe.

In a sense the actual value of the zero-point energy is not important because everything we know about is on top of it. According to quantum field theory every particle is an excitation (a wave) of an underlying field (for example the electromagnetic field) in the void and it is only the energy of the wave itself that we can detect. A useful analogy is to consider our observable universe as a mass of waves on top of an ocean, whose depth is immaterial. Our senses and all our instruments can only directly detect the waves so it seems that trying to probe whatever lies beneath, the void itself, is hopeless. Not quite so. There are subtle effects of the zero-point energy that do lead to detectable phenomena in our observable universe. An example is a force, predicted in 1948 by the Dutch physicist, Hendrik Casimir, that arises from the zero-point energy. If you place two mirrors facing each other in empty space they produce a disturbance in the quantum fluctuations that results in a pressure pushing the mirrors together. Detecting the Casimir force however is not easy as it only becomes significant if the mirrors approach to within less than 1 micrometre (about a fiftieth the width of a human hair). Producing sufficiently parallel surfaces to the precision required has had to wait for the emergence of the tools of nanotechnology to make accurate measurements of the force.

In the last decade this has happened and a spate of measurements using atomic force microscopes has confirmed Casimir’s prediction to a precision of about 5% and the zero-point energy of the void is an experimental reality. This is just the beginning however as the force has only been measured in very simple geometries such as flat parallel plates. More recent calculations show that the force is sensitive to geometry and by changing the materials and the shape of the cavity you can alter the magnitude of the Casimir force and possibly even reverse it. This would be a ground-breaking discovery as the Casimir force is a fundamental property of the void and reversing it is akin to reversing gravity. Technologically this would only have relevance at very small distances but it would revolutionise the design of micro- and nano-machines.

The srif2 and srif3 investment by the University of Leicester in the Virtual Microscopy Centre and the Nanoscale Interfaces Centre has put the University in a key position to take a lead in Casimir force measurements in novel geometries. It has led to the award of an 800,000€ grant (NANOCASE) from the European framework 6 NEST (New and Emerging Science and Technology) programme to lead a consortium from three countries (UK, France and Sweden). The programme will use the ultra-high vacuum Atomic Force Microscope installed in the Physics and Astronomy department under srif2 to make very high precision Casimir force measurements in non-simple cavities and assess the utility of the force in providing a method for contactless transmission in nano-machines.

The new instrumentation to be installed soon following the srif3 investment will enable researchers to extend the measurements to yet more complex shapes and, for the first time, to search for a way to reverse the Casimir force.

This new wave of measurements will enable an unprecedented level of probing of the void and will provide important information on new theories of gravity and with sufficient precision will even put limits on the true number of spatial dimensions. Knowing how zero-point energy varies with the shape of an enclosure may also give clues to the origin of so-called ‘dark energy’, discovered recently.

Breaking into higher dimensions

Breaking into higher dimensions with the help of Zero Point Energy Fields - ZPF Propulsion and Power Application Concepts
http://www.indiadaily.com/editorial/6683.asp

Scientists are busy trying to breaking into the higher dimensional hyperspace and use zero point energy fields for limitless source of energy.

Casimir effect demonstrates the real physical results of zero point fields (ZPF0 and energies (beyond the quantum effects). Two plates are placed together such that the gap limits the wavelength of zero point fields or photons which can exist between the plates. New difference in ZPF radiation pressure is created inside versus outside the cavity and the plates are force together. Theoretical studies and models shows that ZPF is the primary causes of gravity and inertia. Ground- based experiments to investigate the inertial effects of zero- point fields have been proved and are in work. Approaches for extracting useful energy from ZPF are gaining ground.

Since gravity is caused by net pressure differences between points outside and inside a spherical mass, like the Earth, it is possible to create material/ field configurations which, in effect, generate “cascading” cavities or conditions which either alter the net background pressure difference by not allowing background photons to interact with the mass of an object or vehicle. If inertia is caused by a zero- point field/ photon “wind”, then experiment apparatus should be able to measure this effect using rotating arms and sensitive detectors. Testing theoretical model predictions in micro gravity conditions could result in anomaly identification and characterization, in a faster & more extensive manner than in comparable ground testing.

Zero Point Energy is the key for civilization to move from Type zero to Type one and beyond. In order for human civilization to be seriously taken by the extraterrestrial super advanced civilizations, we need to move to at least planetary stage or Type 1 level. That will require we utilize all the solar energy we receive from the Sun or break into the realm of ZPE – Zero Point Energy Fields.

Tapping ZPE may also be possible from the Black Holes. But the nearest Black Hole is out of reach at least for the time being. There lies the need for artificial tapping mechanisms.

According to some scientists trying to reverse engineer the advanced extraterrestrial UFOs, they tap ZPE anywhere and anytime. That is the main source of energy and propulsion mechanism.

Gravity is the real source of unlimited ZPE. The biggest question is how to reverse engineer and transform gravity into conventional energy and propulsion mechanisms.

CHINESE NEW YEAR

January 29, 2006 is the first day of the Chinese new year.

There are three ways to name a Chinese year:

1. By an animal (like a mscot).
This year is known as the Year of the Dog.
There are 12 animal names; so by this system, year names are re-cycled every 12 years.

2. By its Formal Name (Stem-Branch). The new year is the year of bingxu.

In the 'Stem-Branch' system, the years are named in 60-year cycles, and the Name of the Year is repeated every 60 years.

2006 is the 7th year in the current 60-year cycle.

3. It is Year 4703 by the Chinese calendar.

[A few Chinese astrological/zodiac websites believe this year should be considered as Year 4704 for zodiac calculations.]

<><><><><><><><><>

The years of the dogs are: 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, (and every 12 years on).

Ones who are born in the Year of the dog possess the best traits of human nature; because they’re honest, have deep sense of loyalty, and have inspired other people’s confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But sometimes, ones who are born in the Year of the Dog can be selfish, really stubborn, and eccentric (weird). They don’t seem to care much about money, but they seem to have a lot of money. Sometimes they can be cold (emotionally) and distant at parties. But they do make good leaders. They’re most compatible with ones who are born in the Year of Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.

<><><><><><><><><>

Chinese calendar has been in continuous use for centuries, which predates the International Calendar (based on the Gregorian Calendar) we use at the present day which goes back only some 425 years. The calendar measures time, from short durations of minutes and hours, to intervals of time measured in months, years and centuries, entirely based on the astronomical observations of the movement of the Sun, Moon and stars.

You Cannot Step into the Same River Twice

Osho: The Hidden Harmony, Chapter 11

Into the same rivers we step and do not step.
You cannot step twice in the same river.

Everything flows and nothing abides.
Everything gives way and no thing stays fixed.

Cool things become warm, the warm grows cool.
The moist dries, the parched becomes moist.

It is by disease that health is pleasant;
by evil that good is pleasant;
by hunger, satiety, by weariness, rest.
It is one and the same thing to be living or dead,
awake or asleep, young or old.
The former aspect in each case becomes the latter,
and the latter again the former,
by sudden unexpected reversal.
It throws apart
and then brings together again.

All things come in their due seasons.

Into the same rivers we step and do not step...

...because the appearance, and remember, only the appearance, remains the same. Otherwise, everything changes and flows.

You cannot step twice into the same stream. For as you are stepping in, other waters are ever flowing on to you.

Broadcaster says serious news at risk

By JAN SJOSTROM , Daily News Arts Editor
Thursday, January 26, 2006

The anchorman whose boss once characterized him as ice compared with his successor's fire was anything but chilly in the impassioned speech he delivered Tuesday at The Society of the Four Arts.

"Truth no longer matters in the context of politics and, sadly, in the context of cable news," said Aaron Brown, whose four-year period as anchor of CNN's NewsNight ended in November, when network executives gave his job to Anderson Cooper in a bid to push the show's ratings closer to front-runner Fox News.

Brown said he tried to give viewers a balanced diet of light and serious news with NewsNight. "But I always knew when I got to the Brussels sprouts, I was on thin ice," he said.

When NewsNight spent four hours covering the arrest of actor Robert Blake for the murder of his wife, Brown received thousands of e-mails criticizing the amount of time the show spent on the story. Nevertheless, that show, which aired in April 2002, received the highest ratings of any program since NewsNight's coverage of the November 2001 crash of American Airlines flight 587.

"Television is the most perfect democracy," Brown said. "You sit there with your remote control and vote." The remotes click to another channel when serious news airs, but when the media covers the scandals surrounding Laci Peterson, the Runaway Bride or Michael Jackson, "there are no clicks then," the journalist said.

With the departure from the screen of the "titans" — Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings and Dan Rather — who "resisted the temptations of their bosses to go for the ratings grab, it will be years before an anchorman or anchorwoman will have the clout to fight these battles," he said.

Brown has spent most of his 30-year career in television news. He's covered everything from the Columbine High School murders to the aftermath of the space shuttle Columbia disaster. But viewers may remember best his on-the-spot coverage of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

He's shocked "by how unkind our world has become," he said. E-mail and talk radio appear to have given people the license to say anything, regardless of how cruel or false it may be, he said.

He cited the example of an e-mail faulting what the sender considered to be NewsNight's inadequate coverage of an anti-war protest in Washington, D.C. The note ended with, "I hope the violence visited on the people of Iraq will someday be visited on your children."

Those on the opposite side of the political spectrum are no more tolerant, Brown said. "Any criticism of the administration is regarded as hatred of the president and hatred of the country itself," he said.

Important issues, such as the prosecution of the war in Iraq at home and abroad, are being clouded over by "mud-wrestling" that skirts substance, he said. Consider what he called "the swift-boating of John Murtha," the Democratic congressman whose war record was smeared when he called for an exit strategy in Iraq. "Cable didn't search for the truth, but engaged in mock debates pitting those making the charges against Murtha's defenders," he said.

Many Americans on the left and the right aren't interested in the truth, but simply want news that confirms their viewpoints, he said. "You'd think that it's no more complex than good vs. evil," he said.

Journalists have fallen short in presenting important news in ways that allow viewers to see how it matters in their lives. But viewers must take up the battle as well, he said. "It's not enough to say you want serious news. You have to watch it. It isn't enough to say you want serious debate. You have to engage in it."

Details of US microwave-weapon tests revealed

22 July 2005NewScientist.com news serviceDavid Hambling

OLUNTEERS taking part in tests of the Pentagon's "less-lethal" microwave weapon were banned from wearing glasses or contact lenses due to safety fears. The precautions raise concerns about how safe the Active Denial System (ADS) weapon would be if used in real crowd-control situations.

The ADS fires a 95-gigahertz microwave beam, which is supposed to heat skin and to cause pain but no physical damage (New Scientist, 27 October 2001, p 26). Little information about its effects has been released, but details of tests in 2003 and 2004 were revealed after Edward Hammond, director of the US Sunshine Project - an organisation campaigning against the use of biological and non-lethal weapons - requested them under the Freedom of Information Act.

The tests were carried out at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Two experiments tested pain tolerance levels, while in a third, a "limited military utility assessment", volunteers played the part of rioters or intruders and the ADS was used to drive them away.

The experimenters banned glasses and contact lenses to prevent possible eye damage to the subjects, and in the second and third tests removed any metallic objects such as coins and keys to stop hot spots being created on the skin. They also checked the volunteers' clothes for certain seams, buttons and zips which might also cause hot spots.

The ADS weapon's beam causes pain within 2 to 3 seconds and it becomes intolerable after less than 5 seconds. People's reflex responses to the pain is expected to force them to move out of the beam before their skin can be burnt.

But Neil Davison, co-ordinator of the non-lethal weapons research project at the University of Bradford in the UK, says controlling the amount of radiation received may not be that simple. "How do you ensure that the dose doesn't cross the threshold for permanent damage?" he asks. "What happens if someone in a crowd is unable, for whatever reason, to move away from the beam? Does the weapon cut out to prevent overexposure?"

During the experiments, people playing rioters put up their hands when hit and were given a 15-second cooling-down period before being targeted again. One person suffered a burn in a previous test when the beam was accidentally used on the wrong power setting.

A vehicle-mounted version of ADS called Sheriff could be in service in Iraq in 2006 according to the Department of Defense, and it is also being evaluated by the US Department of Energy for use in defending nuclear facilities. The US marines and police are both working on portable versions, and the US air force is building a system for controlling riots from the air.

Atmospheric Vortex Engine

Mechanical energy is produced when heat is carried upward by convection in the atmosphere. A process for producing a tornado-like vortex and concentrating mechanical energy where it can be captured is proposed. The existence of tornadoes proves that low intensity solar radiation can produce concentrated mechanical energy. It should be possible to control a naturally occurring process. Controlling where mechanical energy is produced in the atmosphere offers the possibility of harnessing solar energy without having to use solar collectors.

The Sun Is Freaking Out and Now More Cosmic Dust

This web page documents the increase in severe weather throughout our entire solar system and relates it to the obvious cause, increased solar activity. The increase in severe weather suddenly appeared in 2002, too suddendly to be caused by greenhouse gasses which have been slowly building for generations. The severe weather arrived right after the sun, for the first time since we have observed it, failed to completely flip its magnetic field.

Failing ocean current raises fears of mini ice age

30 November 2005
NewScientist.com news service
Fred Pearce

The ocean current that gives western Europe its relatively balmy climate is stuttering, raising fears that it might fail entirely and plunge the continent into a mini ice age.

The dramatic finding comes from a study of ocean circulation in the North Atlantic, which found a 30% reduction in the warm currents that carry water north from the Gulf Stream.

The slow-down, which has long been predicted as a possible consequence of global warming, will give renewed urgency to intergovernmental talks in Montreal, Canada, this week on a successor to the Kyoto Protocol.

Harry Bryden at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK, whose group carried out the analysis, says he is not yet sure if the change is temporary or signals a long-term trend. "We don’t want to say the circulation will shut down," he told New Scientist. "But we are nervous about our findings. They have come as quite a surprise."

No one-off

The North Atlantic is dominated by the Gulf Stream – currents that bring warm water north from the tropics. At around 40° north – the latitude of Portugal and New York – the current divides. Some water heads southwards in a surface current known as the subtropical gyre, while the rest continues north, leading to warming winds that raise European temperatures by 5°C to 10°C.

But when Bryden’s team measured north-south heat flow last year, using a set of instruments strung across the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to the Bahamas, they found that the division of the waters appeared to have changed since previous surveys in 1957, 1981 and 1992. From the amount of water in the subtropical gyre and the flow southwards at depth, they calculate that the quantity of warm water flowing north had fallen by around 30%.

When Bryden added previously unanalysed data – collected in the same region by the US government’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – he found a similar pattern. This suggests that his 2004 measurements are not a one-off, and that most of the slow-down happened between 1992 and 1998.

The changes are too big to be explained by chance, co-author Stuart Cunningham told New Scientist from a research ship off the Canary Islands, where he is collecting more data. "We think the findings are robust."

Hot and cold

But Richard Wood, chief oceanographer at the UK Met Office’s Hadley Centre for climate research in Exeter, says the Southampton team's findings leave a lot unexplained. The changes are so big they should have cut oceanic heating of Europe by about one-fifth – enough to cool the British Isles by 1°C and Scandinavia by 2°C. "We haven’t seen it yet," he points out.

Though unseasonably cold weather last month briefly blanketed parts of the UK in snow, average European temperatures have been rising, Wood says. Measurements of surface temperatures in the North Atlantic indicate a strong warming trend during the 1990s, which seems now to have halted.

Bryden speculates that the warming may have been part of a global temperature increase brought about by man-made greenhouse warming, and that this is now being counteracted by a decrease in the northward flow of warm water.

After warming Europe, this flow comes to a halt in the waters off Greenland, sinks to the ocean floor and returns south. The water arriving from the south is already more saline and so more dense than Arctic seas, and is made more so as ice forms.Predicted shutdown

But Bryden’s study has revealed that while one area of sinking water, on the Canadian side of Greenland, still seems to be functioning as normal, a second area on the European side has partially shut down and is sending only half as much deep water south as before. The two southward flows can be distinguished because they travel at different depths.

Nobody is clear on what has gone wrong. Suggestions for blame include the melting of sea ice or increased flow from Siberian rivers into the Arctic. Both would load fresh water into the surface ocean, making it less dense and so preventing it from sinking, which in turn would slow the flow of tropical water from the south. And either could be triggered by man-made climate change. Some climate models predict that global warming could lead to such a shutdown later this century.

The last shutdown, which prompted a temperature drop of 5°C to 10°C in western Europe, was probably at the end of the last ice age, 12,000 years ago. There may also have been a slowing of Atlantic circulation during the Little Ice Age, which lasted sporadically from 1300 to about 1850 and created temperatures low enough to freeze the River Thames in London.

Washington warns Delhi over UN vote on Iran

Washington on Wednesday raised the stakes in the confrontation over Iran when it warned India that Delhi’s own nuclear deal with the US could be ditched if the Indian government did not vote to refer Tehran to the United Nations Security Council.

The US’s tough new move came amid increasing signs that Iran’s efforts to delay referral to New York may be gaining ground. On Wednesday, Kofi Annan, United Nations secretary-general, expressed doubts that the UN’s nuclear watchdog would be able to take such a step next week, as the US and the European Union intend. Meanwhile, Russia and Iran emphasised their “fast-growing” ties with each other.

well hopefully by posting the info will make "them" think twice about actually doing it...

when does the current patriot act expire? FEB 3rd. (or here).. A day after the SC nuke drill is set to end...hummm... and im sure that since the "domestic spying issue" has seen a new push in the news with bush defending it so strongly.. (and we know that it wouldnt be IN the news unless "they" wanted it in the news) it will be used as one of the reasons that it happened... "oh we could have stopped it if we were allowed to listen to US phone calls, we would have caught them before they did this" .... "now we have to attack Iran" it seems so scripted just like "wag the dog"

The January air is again filled with rumblings about an imminent nuclear attack on American soil, as ominous signs are popping up all over the place indicating the "dropping of the real potato" is right around the corner.

Sources inside the military and close to the action this week warned areas of "nuclear concern" within the next 10 to 90 days include Texas City, Tex., the Houston metro area, Charleston, S.C., Los Angeles, Ca., and Kansas City, Ka.

"I am worried," said Jon Watkins of Texas City. "My family is right in the middle of it. I have asked two police officers to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity during the next 10 days.

"I also am sending a copy to the FBI of the interview I heard today on Greg Szymanski's, Investigative Journal, where his guest, Army Capt. Eric May, presented compelling evidence that a nuclear attack, created by the Bush Cabal, could very well take place on or near Jan. 31, 2006, right here in Texas City."

And From east coast to west, people like Watkins from all walks of life, including military and civilian, are coming forward with stories about "an impending disaster," most of them linking the insidious Bush Cabal pushing the "nuke buttons," not the fictitious and Illuminati-created Al Qaeda terrorists.

Going back to last August, the signs were already obvious that the Bush administration, through Cheney's direct orders to Strategic Command (STRATCOM), had specific plans to nuke Iran "if a nuclear blast occurred on American soil."

At that time, sources in the military stationed at Ft. Monroe, VA, warned how a planned nuclear test exercise scheduled for the waters around Charleston, S.C., "may go live," the leak in the military saying this probably led to the strange firing of Gen. Kevin P. Byrnes, who may have gotten wind of the backdoor military nuclear plan.

Other sources since have come forward, saying Gen. Byrnes, head of the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), was actually fired for not keeping "a better lid" on the nuclear plans, since the leaked information circulated heavily on the internet and other places drew too much attention for the Bush administration plans to go ahead with scheduled plans to "nuke its own country.

Gen. Byrnes, one of the few military four star generals ever to be fired, was replaced Oct. 13, 2005, with Gen. William S. Wallace, now heading TRADOC and any future nuclear exercises at FT. Monroe.

Regarding the Gen. Byrnes firing and the nuclear training exercises, still more sources during July and August were saying the east coast training session was not the key target area, but only a diversion for the actual nuclear attack to be carried out at the British Petroleum plant in Texas City located about 40 miles from Houston.

Although the attacks never occurred, Capt. May, who claims to have broken the Bush Cabal's complicated Illuminati "embedded code" said his infowars cyber-fighters actually may have put the "clamps" on the Texas City attack, scheduled for last July 28, due to "some quick thinking" and media alerts put out by the group he heads to take called the Ghost Troop.

"By breaking their embedded code, which uses numbers as signposts going back to 911, we predicted the timing of such a nuclear attacks to take place last year at Texas City " said Capt. May on Szymanski's Tuesday morning edition of The Investigative Journal, adding he felt the Bush administration was scared-off from pushing "the nuke button" by successfully alerting media groups, federal agencies and others in places of interest.

"I believe we thwarted the attack but they are now coming back again. The next nine days are going to be very important and Texas City could be the target and look for a Jan. 31 as the target date."

Although the breaking of the Illuminati's embedded code is rather complex, it centers around the importance of numbers 1, 3 and 9 as well as inversions and other uses of certain symbols and other number combinations and variations only known by the Illuminists themselves.

"These people in our government communicate this way and through my training as a military intelligence officer I feel I have broken their code. We have to fight back and stop them from the next nuclear attack and this is one way to beat them at their own game," said Capt. May, who once believed hook, line and sinker in the government's war on terrorism but changed his mind several years ago after events around the world, including the Spain and London bombings, convinced him they were actually being orchestrated by "the enemy within," the Bush Cabal.

"Then there was the all-important contact I had with a 911 witness, USMC Captain Jeff Cross, who opened my mind enough that I had my epiphany upon the 3/11/2004 Madrid "911," and almost overnight cracked the "embedded code."

"I'll give examples to any American who wants to learn. All they have to do is Google "Ghost Troop Bibliography" to find out just how the Bush Cabal is telling us when the next event will occur. They like to play with people's minds, feel superior when doing so and they are going to hit America with a nuclear attack. That's certain.

"The only question is when and where and if my calculations are correct, the event is not too far away. But, without question, I am prepared to die for my country in an effort to stop them and will do everything in my power to do so."

And what adds to the suspense and credibility of Capt. May's warning is another nuclear training exercise is now being planned by the Department of Defense between Jan. 31 and Feb. 2 in the Charleston, S.C. area.

The military's Joint Task Force-Civil Support, headquartered at Ft. Monroe, Va., the same unit headed by Gen. Byrnes who was fired in August, will hold a three-day drill involved in managing the consequences of a 10-megaton nuclear blast, enough to inflict mass causalities and devastation on an American city.

And just like the last August exercise, this drill focuses on a hypothetical blast that affects nearly half a million people across a 900-square mile section of tidewater South Carolina. The scenario assumes 10,000 fatalities and more than 30,000 injuries. As officials from the Department of Homeland Security, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency and senior Coast Guard brass will be in attendance.

Besides Capt. May who is sounding the "red alert" for the next 10 days for the Charleston and Texas City areas, the war drums in Iran are again pounding, as STRATCOM is still under Cheney's orders to "nuke Iran" in the event of a "terrorist attack" at home.

Not only is the nuclear attack here imminent, according to Capt. May and others, the recent Osama bin Laden tape, threatening a huge American attack, considered by many to be a fraud and orchestrated by the Bush Cabal, is another sign the American people are being psychologically prepped for a nuclear strike.

"Remember how the Bush Cabal works," added Capt. May. "Every attack has to be greater than first like sequels in a horror movie. Also remember the way they use names. First Oklahoma City, Okla., next New York City, N.Y. and what's next Texas City, Tex.?"

Besides Capt. May, the military source from Charleston, who talked last August anonymously, again when contacted this week, said "to watch out for something big in the weeks to come in the Houston, LA or Charleston area."

One other more obscure sign of an "impending disaster" is the alarming notice being put out by Bank of America officials, who in recent weeks have been secretly instructing bank managers and employees how to deal with customers in the case of a "national emergency."

And to verify this claim as well as LA being a feasible target, a Bank of America manager from Irvine, Ca., reported two weeks ago that her bank held a "workshop" where the last two days were dedicated to discussing new security measures.

According to the branch manager, the workshop included members from the Homeland Security Office who instructed employees how to field calls from customers and what they are to tell them in the event of a national disaster.

Apparently, the manager was told how only agents from Homeland Security, during such a disaster, would be in charge of opening safe deposit boxes and determining what items would be given to bank customers.

The manager then reported that she was instructed that no weapons, cash, gold, or silver will be allowed to leave the bank and only various paperwork will be given to its owners. After discussing the matter with them at length, she and the other employees were then told "not to discuss the subject with anyone."

Since speaking anonymously for fear of Homeland Security reprisals, the bank manager has recently given notice she is leaving Bank of America.

And to verify this claim, another Houston resident alerted about the California case, decided to recently question a local bank employee about any Homeland Security visits in Houston.

"I found the news alarming and decided to find out more myself," said the Houston resident wishing to remain anonymous. "On a trip to my bank here in Houston, I remarked to a young bank employee "well I guess you've been told all that stuff by the manager and the Homeland Security about what to tell your customers."

"And to my amazement, the young woman came right out and said yes she'd been through all that, then whispered to me across the counter, "But we're not supposed to talk about - I could lose my job."
