occupancy permit???

City's Definition of 'Family' Challenged by Unmarried Couple With Kids

(CNSNews.com) - The city of Black Jack, Mo., is re-examining its definition of the term "family," after an unmarried couple with children was denied an occupancy permit for their home, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. A city ordinance forbids more than three people from living together unless they are related by "blood, marriage or adoption." The ordinance was intended to prevent "overcrowding." The unmarried couple has filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which is investigating the case, the report said.

The local radio station here in Atlanta (99.7fm 99x.com) had called Olivia Shelltrack this morning and did a interview with her... I didnt hear the whole thing but she was saying that the town of Black Jack requires people to get a occupancy permit to live there.. you have to list everyone living in the house... After doing some research she said the its not a race issue and a lot of towns have the same laws but they over look it in most cases...
