Balance is always needed...

So to counter act my proudness in the co I work for here is a little tale about how they are screwing one of there employees.... This person was working in the same dept. As me... He saw a problem designed a program to help the agents and the supervisors .... Then the co. said lets patent the idea/program... Great... They helped this person fill out all the paperwork and file for the patent... Wonderful... They promise him $750 for submitting the patent and around $3,500 when the patent process is finished... Well that all sounds well and good... And they were promising him the $$ the whole time they were getting him to fill everything out and sign all the paperwork....

now they are saying that because when this person filed the patent app. he was a temp. manager and not a permanent employee so they don't have to pay him anything.... Oddly enough within a month of submitting the patent app. He was hired as a permanent employee and is currently overseas working in India wondering why he went out of his way for the co.

on another note....

this person that is currently over in India also started a new project with another person on my team... The co. was going to hire another firm to write a training program... For $2 million... Well these two people inform the co. That they could write the program for much less then that.. @ $10k....(only the cost of there current salary) ... Before the one went off to India they both were working on this project like heads with there chicken cut off(or vice versa if you wish) working weekends, nights, at home, a lot of overtime.... do you think they will get any compensation? a permanent position?

I know if I had $2 million to spend on a program... And someone came up to me and said they could do it for much much less... When the project was done I would give them a bonus from what I saved.... But that's me and I am not a big co. trying to make $$$ any way possible..
