...a reflection of higher consciousness

Unlike any southern town, Asheville, North Carolina has long been declared
magical and spiritual, and in the past decade much world-wide media
attention has focused on these here mountains.

People are gravitating to Asheville for myriad reasons. Good retirement property value (hence our elders), hordes of talented artists, and the socially flexible and tolerant, hence more artsy types, hippies and visionaries, a large gay/lesbian population, and a plethora of art galleries and restaurants.

The town is continually presented in the media. CBS News did a special "Eye On America" here, calling Asheville America's "new age" Mecca. We made Rolling Stone magazine, and US TODAY did a cover story.

Asheville is a richly spiritual and metaphysical place, maybe because it's surrounded by mountains enjoying heavenly views, and angelic cloud forms, or it could be the huge amount of quartz in the ground (more than a trillion tons!)...or maybe, as legend says, it's the energy that the Atlantian and Lemurian scientists implanted here after their civilization fell into the sea!

Some 5,000 witches, along with Christianity's icon, Rev. Billy Graham, make this area their home. The overwhelming majority of folks in the Asheville area were not born here, In fact long term natives seem a rarity!

Gordon Michael Scallion, futurist, and publisher of Earth Changes, sees this area as saved from destruction during the coming "end-times," becoming the center of healing and spirituality for the new "Eastern United States" after the great cataclysmic divide.

Thousands of conscious people, holistic healers, back-to-the-earthers, new paradigm thinkers, and other new age consciousness types have made Asheville their home. If you find yourself drawn here, feel free to share your experience.

I trust you will enjoy and find value in our magazine, and and its reflection of Asheville, and that you will come back often. Be sure and make use of our forums and connect with other kindred spirits...
