It is NOT money that is evil BUT what people do to get it, and they how they allow it to change them once they do have it. Its peoples actions that is the problem... always has been... you dont put a car in jail for a drunk driver killing someone? or a gun for holding up a bank? or a machine for polluting the earth. it is the PERSON behind the actions that is the problem. - Az

Actually, it's not money itself that is evil. Money is a system and an inanimate object. It has no intrinsic "good" or "evil" value tied to the object itself. After all, what is actual money but paper and cut-rate metal alloys?
If you refer to the source of the quote, you will see that it's the LOVE of money that is the Root of all evil.
Essentially what you are saying, but you may find yourself in more agreement with the actual quote than it's frequent misinterpretation.
The LOVE of money is ROOT of evil - because if one loves money then one will stop at nothing to get it, have it, stockpile it, etc.
And - since Money is the Root of Evil, it becomes what one serves - feeding the root, nourishing the root, pruning the root, harvesting the fruit that is produced by the plant that grows from the root.
